Toddler Curriculum & Preschool ProgramEach month we concentrate on a different set of seasonal themes, which always include thinking about shapes, colors, numbers and letters. Our lesson plans are designed to be fun for the children - inspiring creativity, exploration, and thoughtfulness about the world around us.
Infant Development ActivitiesEvery week your infant reaches a new and exciting stage of Development. Examples of activities promoting healthy development are tummy time, roll-over play, or creep-and-crawl play. Games such as these can help to motivate sensory stimulation and important motor skills. Other promotive games and toys include action-reaction games, toys to encourage sitting-up, toys to encourage crawling, toys to encourage standing, and toys to encourage walking. As well, we believe in displaying a variety of patterns and textures that are stimulating to the touch and placed low to the ground. Our child care environment is filled with toys and other tools just like these, which are designed to stimulate the growing mind of an infant child. Exercise & Nutrition ProgramOur child care program is committed to daily physical activity. On sunny days, we never miss an opportunity to walk to the neighborhood parks where the children can enjoy running and vigorous play. Even when the ground is covered with snow, at Ms. Julie's Daycare, there are always ways to work on fine motor-skills through physical activity. To provide children with a healthy start in life, nutritious meal are also of the utmost importance. As such, Ms. Julie's Daycare participates actively in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Program located in Fairfax Virginia. Through the Fairfax Nutrition Office we establish weekly menus, which meet the dietary requirements of the USDA food pyramid. This pyramid includes regular servings of fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, and dairy products. To learn more about our menus please view the sample menu published on this site. Daycare Hours of OperationMs. Julie's Daycare is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Extended Care and Weekend Care is available only as needed. As an added personal standard Ms. Julie’s Daycare will never have more than 2 children under the age of 1 year old. Family Child Care RatesIn Fairfax County the average rate for top-quality family child care is $35 to $50 per day. The actual rate will depend upon the age of the child, the number of hours in care, and any individual or special needs. A lower rate can of course be expected for older children who are fully potty trained. |
